RELIGIOUS-NATIVE KONGO TRIAD: MORAL, ETHICAL, AND SUSTAINABILITY FORMATION IN THE ANGOLAN CONTEXT
Main Article Content
Abstract
The concern in Angolan society about the loss of moral values can be attributed, among other causes, to the destruction of the religious formation practices of native peoples in the pre-colonial period, during the implementation of Christianity in Angola. The analysis carried out, supported by bibliographic review, observation of worship and formation instruments at the Museum of the Kings of Kongo, dialogue with the kingdom’s sovereigns, and consultation of documents from the National Archive of Angola, confirmed that the lack of dialogue between Portuguese missionaries and researchers with the Ngangas Nzambi (priests of God) significantly contributed to the erosion of the moral and civic values of the Kongo people.
