Resumen
Este artículo propone una lectura teológico‑práctica de las Reglas Generales del metodismo como instrumento de resistencia a la corrupción. Comienza con una crítica a los enfoques teológicos pesimistas, idealistas y entusiastas, considerados como respuestas eficaces al fenómeno de la corrupción. Las Reglas Generales son analizadas como un trípode que articula espiritualidad y ética social. Se destaca su afinidad con las tradiciones monásticas, el doble mandamiento del amor y la concepción de las obras de misericordia y piedad, con énfasis en el amor al prójimo como expresión concreta del amor divino—acciones vistas como medios de gracia con potencial transformador tanto para quien sirve como para quien es servido. El artículo concluye que las Reglas Generales promueven una teología y práctica de integridad, enraizadas en la gracia preveniente y vividas en comunidad, con capacidad de identificar y enfrentar estructuras corruptas mediante una espiritualidad encarnada, relacional y profética. Constituyen, así, un manifiesto ético‑espiritual contra la corrupción sistémica.
