"NE PAS FAIRE LE MAL, FAIRE LE BIEN, AIMER DIEU." ES RÈGLES GÉNÉRALES MÉTHODISTES ET LA LUTTE CONTRE LA CORRUPTION

Résumé
Cet article propose une lecture théologico‑pratique des Règles Générales du méthodisme comme instrument de résistance à la corruption. Il commence par une critique des approches théologiques pessimistes, idéalistes et enthousiastes, considérées comme des réponses efficaces au phénomène de la corruption. Les Règles Générales sont analysées comme un trépied articulant spiritualité et éthique sociale. Leur affinité avec les traditions monastiques, le double commandement de l’amour et la conception des œuvres de miséricorde et de piété sont mises en évidence, avec un accent particulier sur l’amour du prochain comme expression concrète de l’amour divin—des actions comprises comme des moyens de grâce ayant un potentiel transformateur tant pour celui qui sert que pour celui qui est servi. L’article conclut que les Règles Générales promeuvent une théologie et une pratique d’intégrité, enracinées dans la grâce prévenante et vécues en communauté, capables d’identifier et de confronter les structures corrompues par une spiritualité incarnée, relationnelle et prophétique. Elles constituent ainsi un manifeste éthico‑spirituel contre la corruption systémique.
